Claiming Reservation
VAX does not allow for Travel Advisors to claim a reservation that was booked directly by the consumer with Universal Vacations. The existing reservation would need to be cancelled (with the customers approval) and a new booking will be at prevailing rates and availability. UPRV can transfer the funds paid on the original booking to the new booking in order to make it an easier transition for your client.
Steps 1: If more than 45+ days out, rebook the reservation to secure and secure the same price. VAX does not allow the transfer of room or ticket inventory from one reservation to another. The new reservation would be booked at prevailing rates and availability.
Step 2: Upon confirming that the reservation can be rebooked, the client must call UPRV to advise they wish to cancel their original booking and have the funds transferred to the new booking.
Reservations paid with UpLift are prohibited from being taken over by a Travel Advisor. The guest will need to cancel the existing reservation, cancel their existing UpLift loan and rebook with the agency.
Transferring Between Agencies
UPRV does not allow reservations to be transferred between agency's. Only option will be to have the reservation cancelled by Agency A and rebooked by Agency B.
New payments would be applied to new booking and all available funds for the original booking would be refunded.
