Go behind-the-scenes on the legendary Studio Tour to explore Hollywood’s most famous backlot in the world’s largest working movie studio. Visit 13 city blocks on four acres of historic studio lot in the largest set construction project in studio history, built with creative consultation from Steven Spielberg himself. Guests will laugh along with comedian Jimmy Fallon, the video host of the Studio Tour. The star of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” introduces entertaining clips seen on HD monitors in the trams to augment the live Studio Tour guide narration.
The Studio Tour also includes the award-winning King Kong 360 3-D created by Peter Jackson, plus:
 
Inclusions
  • The elaborate Jupiter’s Claim set from Jordan Peele’s highly-anticipated horror epic, NOPE, will be featured.
  • Encounter the smoldering wreckage of the Boeing 747 from Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds.
  • Come face-to-face with Amity Island's most famous resident – "Jaws".
  • Explore the largest and busiest motion picture and TV studio in the world. More movies and television shows have filmed on this lot than any other lot in the world.
  • There's a vacancy just for tram guests at the legendary Bates Motel from Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.
  • Get a real, behind-the-scenes look at movie making secrets from EARTHQUAKE.
  • Hold on tight for the grand finale of the Studio Tour, Fast & Furious – Supercharged!
 
Additional Information
  • The entrance to the Studio Tour is located in the upper lot. Guests will then take a set of stairs down towards the pickup location of the Studio Trams.
  • The last tour departs an hour and a half before park close.
  • Reservations cannot be made for the tour. The Studio Tour Trams run continuously about every 10-15 minutes.
  • Guests remain on the tram for the duration of the tour.
  • Special nighttime tours offered on select nights
  • Guest with wheelchairs may utilize the transfer ramp available at the unloading area. Some tram vehicles have been modified to accommodate wheelchairs and most electric wheelchairs, but not ECVs or other power-driven mobility devices.
  • The tram has adequate floor space and side barriers for medium to large service animals (smaller or crated animals may not be appropriate).
 
Green is Universal
In early 2022, Universal Studios Hollywood debuted the first four electric trams in its fleet of 21 Studio Tour trams. Full conversion of all 21 trams from diesel-hydraulic engines to electric, which is expected to be complete by early 2025, will help reduce carbon emissions and improve the guest experience by reducing noise.

Traverse historic soundstages and famous Backlot sets from Hollywood’s most memorable films as they’re brought to life with spectacular theatrical lighting and sound effects, projection technology and encounters with classic movie characters.
 
Watch Marilyn Monroe as she films her iconic scene on our Metropolitan set. Escape Frankenstein’s Monster as he roams the haunting streets of Little Europe. Witness the horror of the Bates Motel in a frightening encounter with Norman Bates and his notorious mother. And listen closely as Hollywood secrets are exposed by the Studio Tour guide, including how filmmakers create the effects of daylight amid the black of night.
Guests will also experience the award-winning King Kong 360 3-D created by Peter Jackson – the world’s largest 3-D experience.
 
And, hold on tight for all-new grand finale, Fast & Furious – Supercharged! Ride along with the all-star cast from the hit movies on an exhilarating high-speed chase that exceeds 120 miles per hour!

Universal Studios Hollywood's Spanish version of the popular Studio Tour includes Telemundo superstar Carmen Villalobos as the on-ride video host.
 
Colombian-born actress Carmen Villalobos and the star of the Telemundos series “El Final del Paraiso,” takes on a new leading role as the video host of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Spanish-language Studio Tour, providing entertaining insight for guests designed to complement the “live” narration provided by expert Studio Tour guides.
 
Spanish-language tours run multiple times day and it is recommended for guests to check the digital boards located throughout the Park for tour times during their visit.

Fast & Furious – Supercharged is the Studio Tour's grand finale.
Guests ride along with the all-star cast from the hit movies on an exhilarating high-speed chase that exceeds 120 miles per hour and catapults guests into the high-stakes underworld of fast cars and international crime cartels.
 
Guests will be engulfed in a world of cutting-edge, hyper-realistic special effects, including 3D-HD imagery projected onto the world’s most expansive 360-degree screens!

King Kong / 360 3-D - Studio Tour Area
 
Featured on The World-Famous Studio Tour, guests can't miss the award-winning King Kong 360 3-D created by Peter Jackson – The world’s largest 3-D experience.
Guests' heart will pound. Their survival instincts will be on overload. Prepare to be caught in the middle of a terrifying struggle between a 35-foot T-Rex and the 8th wonder of the world – King Kong.
Facts and Figures
  • Honored with the prestigious creative arts award for ‘Outstanding Achievement’ by the International 3D Society. It’s the first time a theme park attraction has ever won this award.
  • Awarded ‘Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project’ by the Visual Effects Society. Another first for a theme park attraction!
  • If the digital 3-D King Kong could leap off the screen, he would be astoundingly large: 30 feet tall, 20 feet wide, 15 feet deep and 6,000 pounds.
  • Two curved screens, each measuring a massive 187 feet wide by 40 feet high — the equivalent of 16 movie theatre screens — surround the Studio Tour tram.

Jupiter's Claim Set from NOPE - Studio Tour Area
 
The elaborate Jupiter’s Claim set from Jordan Peele’s highly-anticipated horror epic, NOPE, is featured exclusively at Universal Studios Hollywood as part of the World-Famous Studio Tour, giving guests a behind-the-scenes look of an authentic movie and television production studio
  • Guests remain on the tram while driving through Jupiter’s Claim set. There are no stunt performances or actors as part of the experience. Guests should expect loud sound effects, including artificial screaming.
