FAQ's
What does a FuelRod do?
FuelRod can charge any phone or device with a micro-USB, USB-C, Apple Lightning Port or your own USB charging cable.
They can also be recharged themselves or swapped at any FuelRod location for a new one ($3 swap fee).
What is the price of a kit and what comes with it?
Each FuelRod kit is priced at $30 and includes:
(1) Ready to Use FuelRod Battery Unit that is Airplane Safe!
Cable and Connectors for USB Type-A to Micro-USB (most Android devices), USB-C (newer Android phones and tablets) and Apple
Lightning (Apple iPhone 5 and newer).
The ability to be refueled (recharged) in any standard wall outlet.
The ability to be swapped (traded) instantly for a fully fueled unit at any FuelRod Kiosk ($3 swap fee).
How does the kiosk work?
The kiosk is self-service, and accepts most common credit and debit cards. It currently does not accept mobile payments like Apple Pay or Android Pay.

Where do I swap?
Guests can swap a depleted charger at any of our on property kiosks for $3.
You can also swap at FuelRod kiosks outside of Universal including many hotels and airports (different swap fees may apply).
Damaged or Non-Functioning Chargers can be swapped for $0 by first calling 1-844-FUELROD while at the kiosk.
What should I do if there is a problem with the kiosk?
If a kiosk is out of FuelRod kits, the “BUY” button is removed and “SWAP” is the only option (and vice versa).
If a kiosk is experiencing a known issue, the iPad display will show the unit “out of service”.
If you or your team suspects a unit is not working, please call the FuelRod Customer Service number and they can check it remotely.
What happens if a guest experiences a problem during their purchase?
Our guests can call 1-844-FUELROD from the kiosk, or visit any Merchandise Location for assistance in calling FuelRod.
Their customer service team can determine if payment went through, what time a unit was originally rented, etc. From there an appropriate resolution can be decided.
