1. The hotel's design, an authentic re-creation of the Italian seaside village of Portofino, was the idea and suggestion of film producer Steven Spielberg, who was a consultant for Universal's Islands of Adventure Theme Park.
2. An elaborate painting technique known as trompe l'oeil was used to paint the exterior of the hotel. This technique involves extremely realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects appear in three-dimensions instead of being a two-dimensional painting.

Guests traveling with late flight departures or arriving early who ask to use the pool can use the shower facilities at this pool.

Pool areas and the restaurants at the pools are reserved for registered premier, preferred, and prime value hotel guests only. If a friend/family member may join a guest for the day, the guest would need to be added to the booking as an additional registered guest for the entire length of stay (and not exceed occupancy limits).

Guests can have packages shipped from and received to their Universal Orlando Resort Hotel! The Business Center charges a fee for receiving, handling and/or storing guest package(s). Luggage Transfer Services have been discontinued across all our resorts for Guests who have reservations at multiple hotels during their stay.
Guests are encouraged to use ride share/taxi services, public transportation, or their own vehicles to transfer luggage between resorts.

Guests can request a microwave for $15 + tax per day.
