Dark Universe

A Shadowy World of Monsters and Mystery

The howl of a wolf. The flutter of leathery wings in the darkness. The crackle and hum of electricity sparking across laboratory transformers. Sounds to make your skin crawl envelop you as you explore the shadowy realm of Dark Universe. Universal, pioneer of the horror movie genre, has brought its timeless characters to the present day.
Guests will enter the remote village of Darkmoor, plagued for centuries by legendary monsters and mad scientists twisting the laws of nature. At the end of the village stands the towering manor where Dr. Victoria Frankenstein continues the misguided work of her ancestors, as the chilling thrill ride Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment brings Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon and more to life.
At the edge of the forest, Guests will encounter the wagons of
The Guild of Mystics, whose leader Maleva warns one and all to “Beware of the moon” before they venture onto the roller coaster, Curse of the Werewolf.

In the village, Guests can give their flesh a (temporarily) monstrous appearance at Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience. On the streets, they may encounter such figures as Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein and Dr. Frankenstein’s loyal assistant, Ygor.

Appearance of characters listed is subject to change without notice, and not all characters listed are guaranteed to appear at the same time, or on the same day.

Together, Guests will dine among vampires at Das Stakehaus and join grizzled monster hunters for a repast at The Burning Blade Tavern. From the deserted cemetery to the blackened stone walls of the village to the catacombs beneath Frankenstein Manor, it’s a forbidding world where myth and grim reality meet. Guests can experience Dark Universe when Universal Epic Universe opens in 2025.

But when she attempts to control the most dangerous of monsters, Dracula, chaos ensues. Before long they’ll find themselves facing the Curse of the Werewolf, aware of the menacing predators lurking in the shadows as they spin and weave through the shrouded canopy of the forest. Glowing eyes, gnashing teeth, and bloodcurdling snarls surround Guests as they attempt to speed right through the home of hungry werewolves. Should they escape, they’ll return to the camp where Maleva will send Guests on their way with one final, ominous warning.

  •     Guests may run into a courageous monster hunter on the hunt to capture a bloodthirsty creature undead or alive.
  •     And, Guests might come across a talented musician who may regale them with song or story about Darkmoor Village and the monsters of the realm.

Guests should be sure to stop and say hello to whoever they meet. But beware. They’ll never know who – or what – may be lurking in the shadows.
